- How is Outerpack different from Shopify?
- Shopify is built for any e-commerce store. We're built specifically for outdoor brands. The core difference: brand-defined product attributes. On Shopify your variants are size and color (everything else is a metafield with weak filter support). On Outerpack, a fishing brand defines water type / target species / rod power / line weight, and those become first-class filters customers actually shop on. Same goes for archery, camping, paddle, climb, etc. We also ship pro staff, wholesale, and the outdoor-vertical playbook as native concepts instead of $30/mo apps.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. Add your domain in settings and we issue SSL automatically (via Cloudflare in front of Vercel). Subdomain (yourbrand.outerpack.app) works during onboarding while DNS propagates.
- Do I need my own Stripe account?
- Yes — and that's a feature, not a bug. We use Stripe Connect, which means each brand gets paid to their own Stripe account (and bank). Outerpack never holds your money. We take a small application fee per transaction; the rest is yours, payable on Stripe's standard 2-day rolling schedule. Onboarding takes about 10 minutes — the same form you'd fill out for any Stripe account, embedded inside our admin.
- How do I migrate from Shopify, BigCommerce, or WooCommerce?
- We export your products, customers, and historical orders via the source platform's API or CSV export, then bulk-import. Most brands are live within 1–2 weeks depending on catalog size. For pilot brands we do the migration ourselves at no extra cost. Reach out and we'll quote a real timeline against your specific catalog.
- What about marketplaces — TikTok Shop, Amazon, Walmart?
- Marketplace connectors are on the roadmap, rolling out post-launch in this order: TikTok Shop → Meta Shops → Google Merchant Center → Amazon → Walmart. The catalog model is already built to publish across channels — we just need to build each integration. Your Pro plan gets connectors as they ship at no additional cost.
- Can my pro staff have their own pages and gear lists?
- Yes — that's a flagship feature. Each pro staffer gets a profile page (bio, photo, region, social links) and a gear list (their own loadout, browseable as a curated collection on your storefront). Commission attribution on referred sales lands in the Pro plan.
- Do you handle wholesale (B2B) customers?
- On Growth and above. Wholesale customers get a separate login experience with their pricing tier, tax-exempt handling (resale certs uploaded once), order minimums, and the ability to request quotes. Net-terms invoicing is on the roadmap.
- What countries can I sell in?
- Stripe Connect is supported in 47 countries. Stripe Tax automates calculation in the US and EU. You can ship anywhere your shipping setup allows — the storefront is built to handle any country's addresses.
- Is there a free trial?
- Pilot brands (first 10 we onboard) get 90 days free + waived application fees on the first $25k of GMV. After the pilot phase wraps we'll run a standard 14-day free trial. Apply here.
- Do you offer custom designs / one-off engineering?
- Custom theming (colors, fonts, logo, layout tweaks) is included on every plan. Bespoke engineering work — custom integrations, white-glove migrations, custom checkout fields, ERP connections — is available on Pro and Enterprise as scoped projects. Reach out with what you're trying to build and we'll quote it.
- Can I export my data if I leave?
- Always. Full data export (products, customers, orders, content) at any time, in standard CSV / JSON formats. No lock-in is a core principle — and on Enterprise you can run on a dedicated Supabase project that you can take with you if we ever part ways.
- Who owns Outerpack?
- Outerpack is a service of Wolff Creative, a small product studio focused on the outdoor industry. More about us →
